McNAMARA, Edna Frances (Teddy) - July 6, 1929 - February 22, 2014 It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Teddy at The Ajax- Pickering Hospital after a brief illness. Teddy was born in Wartime, Saskatchewan and came to Toronto with her family in 1935. She graduated from St. Michael's School of Nursing in 1951 and worked her entire career there, retiring in 1989 as Head Nurse in the 5th floor Maternity Ward. "Miss Mac" was loved by her nursing staff. Teddy was an avid curler and a member of the High Park Curling Club. She was also in the RCAF Air Force Reserve as a nursing assistant (400 Squadron). Teddy was the daughter of Michael and Verna McNamara (both deceased). She was predeceased in 2013 by both her brother James (Delores) and sister Jaci Johnston (Jim). She is survived by her sisters Marie Coburn (Shane) and Marg Flint (Bruce-deceased) and brother Paul McNamara (Bonnie). Teddy was the aunt of 16, great-aunt of 28 and great-great-aunt of 6. Teddy will also be missed by her longtime friends as well. The family will receive friends at the McEachnie Funeral Home, 28 Old Kingston Rd., Ajax, 905-428-8488, on Thursday, February 27th from 9:30-10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 27, 2014 at St. Bernadette's Roman Catholic Church (21 Bayly St. East, Ajax) at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow.
