SOLLY (ROTHGAUZ) LEWIS Solly lived a wonderful life and his fighting spirit kept him strong and inspirational up until the very end. Eighty-six years young-at-heart, and the husband of his beloved wife Elizabeth (Betty) of sixty-two years, Solly passed away suddenly, but peacefully with his family on March 7, 2014, while visiting his birth city of London, England. He and Betty, escorted by his loving sons Stephen and Paul Lewis, had gone to visit family and celebrate the Oxford and St. George's Centenary celebration, where they met friends dating back more than 65 years. Solly, born on August 31, 1927 and dear brother to Hazel Harris, was predeceased by sisters Esther Barnard and Ruth Babot and brother Joe Ross. He started his working career in London's Petticoat Lane and then spent many years as a London Cabbie. Solly brought his family to Toronto on January 1, 1970. He worked in the textile industry in Toronto and finished his career at York Manufacturing. He will be dearly missed by his cherished wife Betty, sons Stephen and Paul, daughters-in-law Judy and Elise, grandchildren Jessie, Saul, Zoe and Hayley, his sister Hazel Harris of Southend- on-Sea and the many friends and family members he kept in touch with around the world. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation at www.heartandstroke.com would be greatly appreciated.
