JOSEPH CARL COWDREY March 15, 1926 - March 12, 2014 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our Joe, a man who faced death the way that he lived his life; with strength, dignity and love. Joe is survived by his adoring wife Joanne, his loving children Joanne (David), Doug(Maryann) and Jeff, step- children Andrew (Judy), Heather, Krista, Wendy (Clifford) and Rhondi (John), grandchildren Joe, Patrick and Charley, step- grandchildren Will, Madeleine, David, Charlotte, Tammy, Kelly, Andy, John Jr., David, Barbara Jean, sister-in-law Margaret Charlebois (Charlie), cousin Sister Mary Buckley, and all of his extended families including nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and great-grandchildren. Joe is predeceased by his first wife Audrey, second wife Barbara Jean Rogers, sister-in-law Pauline Cassidy (Vince) and his daughter-in-law Michele. After serving with the Royal Canadian Navy in the Second World War, Joe began a successful business career at Ontario Hydro, moving on to senior positions at Honeywell in Toronto. Focusing on a unique business opportunity, he purchased Booth Photographic in 1977 and built it into a solid and successful family business. Joe's love of life was expressed through his time with his family and friends, his many years in Longboat Key, summers in Crystal Beach, his love of sailing, his membership with Scarborough Golf Club and his lifelong enthusiasm for travel, marked very recently with a celebration of his 10th wedding anniversary in beautiful Cuba. Joe will be sadly missed by his many business associates, employees and family and remembered as a good and true friend by so many. A memorial for Joe will be held at Bluffer's Restaurant at 7 Brimley Road South in Scarborough on Tuesday, March 18th at 2 p.m.
