MENDELOW, Martin (Max) - Veteran, RCAF On Friday, March 14, 2014, born August 5, 1925. The beloved son of Hyman and Fanny. Marty was the loving husband of Chickie (Title) for over 65 years and the devoted father to Hyla, David (Kheng), Kala (deceased) and Steven (Sue). He was a doting grandfather to Sarah, Danielle, Brendan, Erin, Jacob and Sam, a proud great-grandfather to Sam (Maddie), Hannah, Declan, Gracie, Jake and Kaylee and best friend to Amber. He is also survived by his two loving sisters Rose Pollock (Hawaii) and Gail Stillman (California), his sister-in-law Sharyn Gunter, brother-in-law Benjamin (Bob) Title and many nieces and nephews. He joined the RCAF as a young man and later became an artist, architect, builder and creative businessman. Flying, skiing, Oliphant's Gym, watercolour painting, cowboy boots and summers in Washago with his dogs were passions all his life, and he remained actively involved in all these pursuits until very recently. He was very active in the Jewish community and past president of the Jewish Community Centre. He was a kind and generous man who embraced life and he will be missed by his family and all his friends. Very special thanks to his devoted caregiver and friend Fe and to Dr. Shergold and the amazing staff at the Dorothy Macham Home.
