GLORIA MARION NELSON (nee CROOKS) Gloria passed away peacefully, at Specialty Care, Mississauga, on Monday, March 3, 2014, with her son (Brad) by her side. Beloved wife and best friend of the late Robert Selby Nelson. Dear mother of Brent, Brad and Joanna. Grandmother (Nana) to Samantha. Aunt of Jane and Glenn and John and Dianne. Great-Aunt of Alicia, Joseph, Robbie and Rosemary. Gloria was co-founder of the Association for the Neurologically Disabled of Canada. A strong advocate for the disabled, Gloria worked tirelessly alongside her partner, striving to make life better. Gloria will be remembered for her perseverance, generosity, integrity and love for her family. Gloria loved animals, in particular Basset Hounds and ginger-coloured cats. Gloria will be remembered for her caring and thoughtful nature. A special thanks to the Cottage House Wing at Specialty Care Mississauga for providing such great care to Gloria during her stay. Interment at the Caledon East Public Cemetery will take place in the spring with a private celebration of life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Peel-Halton-Dufferin Acquired Brain Injury Services (PHD ABIS) c/o: Susan Wedgbury, Director of Finance, PHD ABIS, 176 Robert Speck Pkwy., Mississauga, ON L4Z 3G1.
