SMYTHE, Margaret - The Smythe family regretfully announces the death on Wednesday, March 26, 2014, of Margaret, eldest child of Patrick (d. 1970) and Elizabeth (d. 2004), sister of Michael, Patricia, Mary, Bernadette, Rosie (Victor Berger), Maureen Elizondo (Fernando Elizondo) and Sean (d. 1962) and aunt to Ryan Smythe, Nando Elizondo and Natalia Elizondo (d. 2013). Margaret will be sadly missed by family and friends Kay and Joe and good friend Faradon. Margaret was born in London, England, in 1944. Telegrams were sent to both families in Ireland announcing her safe arrival. In 1946, she and Mommy were reunited with Daddy (Royal Montreal Regiment) in Toronto, which she made her permanent home. Margaret loved being an MSW helping others as much as she could. She died peacefully and with great courage at the E.W. Bickle Centre. We are very grateful to Dr. Berry, Anita, Ann, Lecia and the nursing staff for the compassion and respect they showed to Margaret. Telegrams have been sent to her family in heaven announcing her safe departure, with love. Friends and family are welcome to the Lynett Funeral Home, 3299 Dundas St. W. (1 block east of Runnymede Rd.), on Sunday, March 30th from 1-2 p.m. A memorial service will be held in the chapel at 2 p.m., followed by a reception. Memorial donations can be made to 416 Community Support for Women at www.416community.com or 416-928-3334.
