HUNTER, Wendy Catherine - Wendy passed away peacefully at Toronto East General Hospital on March 28, 2014. She was born in Toronto on July 1, 1945, daughter of the late Helen Hunter nee McKay and Donald L. Hunter of Belleville, Ontario. Wendy was educated at Belleville, the Toronto East General Hospital School of Nursing, class of 1966, the University of Windsor 1969, and Sutherland-Chan School and Teaching Clinic 1992. She was a longtime faculty member of Centennial College, Toronto where she taught nursing and paramedics. Wendy was responsible for establishing the Massage Therapy program at the College and a former president of the College Council of the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario. Wendy is president of the Toronto East General Hospital School of Nursing Alumnae and a former chair of True Davidson Acres Home Advisory Committee. She is survived by her canine companion, Gracie, cousins, friends and colleagues from her diverse personal and professional life. Wendy was a dedicated cottager on Lake Kamaniskeg, an avid traveller and enjoyed theatre and other events in the company of her wide circle of friends. Wendy appreciated the care and support she received from the staff of Toronto East General Hospital. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Toronto East General Hospital Foundation.
