HERSEY, Raymond Charles - Passed away peacefully at Etobicoke General Hospital on Thursday, March 27, 2014 at the age of 85. Ray, a Korean War veteran, served with the Special Force 2nd Bn. PPCLI Regiment. Member of Canadian Legion Branch 528. He was born in Guelph, Ontario, the son of the late Charles Hersey and Olive Lowrie. He was predeceased by his wife Marion, brothers Reg Hersey and Lloyd Hersey. Ray is survived by his son David (Sheila), his sister Muriel Howitt, sister- in-law Shirley Hersey, and nieces Diane in Chicago, Christine (Fred) Brown and Kimberley Roadknight and his nephews Doug in Arizona and Randy of Guelph. A special thank you to the Browns of Guelph for their wonderful attention to father over his lifetime. Resting at the NEWEDIUK FUNERAL HOME, KIPLING CHAPEL, 2058 Kipling Ave., Toronto (north of Rexdale Blvd.) on Friday, April 11, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the memorial service in the chapel at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations made in memory of Ray to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
