HATTIN, Murray - Passed away peacefully at the Village of Riverside Glen on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at the age of 89. Cherished husband of the late Megan Hattin. Beloved father of Ross and his wife Lynda and Heather and her husband Robert Ridpath. Loving grandfather of Christopher, Andrew and his fiancée Sasha, Jenna and Jody. Murray was a kind-hearted, inquisitive, gentle soul who resonated well with everyone. He grew up with 3 sisters, the late Myrtle Leslie an d Jeanne Swinton and is survived by Ruth Mary Engel. He had an extensive career as an automotive engineer, which allowed him to fulfill his passion as a car enthusiast. He continually put back into the community with volunteer work and loved to socialize. His life long devotion to Megan lasted more than 60 years of marriage. With the passing of Megan one month ago his broken heart couldn't go on without her support and comfort. Thus it's sad to announce the loss of a great mind, father, friend and mentor. Friends may call at the Turner & Porter "Peel" Chapel, 2180 Hurontario St. (Hwy. 10, N. of QEW), on Saturday, April 26, 2014 for one-hour prior to the Funeral Service to be held in the Chapel at 5:30 p.m. A reception to follow at the funeral home.
