BARBARA GLOGOWSKI Passed away peacefully on Friday, April 18, 2014 in her 97th year. Wife of the late Frank Glogowski. Loving mother of Stephen (Mary Cherry) and Danuta (Bruce) Hill. Beloved grandmother to Emily (Virilo), Matthew (Fiona), Micheil (Mireille) and Andrew (Nancy). Will be greatly missed by her sister Krysia Braulinska in Poland. Born in Poland, Barbara arrived in Canada in August 1939 for a short visit as a representative of Polish Scouting. Stranded by the outbreak of the Second World War and seventy-five years later, she leaves an enormous cultural legacy in the ethnic life of Canada. Visitation will be held at Turner and Porter - Peel Chapel, 2180 Hurontario St., Mississauga (Hwy. 10, N. of QEW), on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. and Rosary at 8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church, 4260 Cawthra Rd., Mississauga. Interment following at Assumption Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Polish Scouting Association in Canada (ON) Inc., or Copernicus Lodge Foundation.
