MICHAEL JOHN BROUGH Unexpectedly and with profound sadness, the family announces the passing of Michael on Monday, April 28, 2014 at St. Joseph's Health Centre at the age of 72. Cherished husband of Sigita for 30 years. Much loved father of Angela Turino and Victoria Seymour. Loving brother-in-law of Dongi Pranaitis. Adored grandfather of Daniel and Jeremy. Michael was born in Manchester, England. He made his way to Canada with his parents James and Janet and brother Jimmy in 1947. He graduated Ryerson with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Mike had a 25 year career with the T. Eaton Company Limited and travelled the world as a Men's Fashion buyer and merchandiser. He left Eaton's in 1990 to become VP marketing for an apparel company. Finally in 1995 he joined Seneca College as a full-time Professor in the School of Business Management. In his youth, he joined a band, Richie Knight & The Mid-Knights and played tenor saxophone. The group had a No. 1 hit with "Charlena". He dearly loved the "Mid-Knights" and the "Mid-Knightettes". From a stage in Maple Leaf Gardens... to motivating and educating young adults... he was personally rewarded by all the opportunities. Michael had a saying, "Music is like life, it's not one "note" that's important but the whole song". And he sang it well! Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., at Windermere, east of Jane subway, on Sunday, May 4th from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Prayers at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at Church of the Resurrection, 1 Resurrection Rd.
