GUNN, William - The family of William (Bill) Gunn announces with sadness his passing on May 2, 2014, at Scarborough General Hospital in his 86th year. We watched with heavy hearts as his health deteriorated during his final years and as he fought unceasingly for his dignity and independence. He is now finally at peace. Bill had a deep love and respect for nature and its creatures and spent many enjoyable years as a Volunteer Hike Leader and Backup Man on the Bruce Trail. It was there that he met his wife, Margareth and together they shared many happy hiking adventures with friends. Bill hiked the entire Bruce Trail twice. He hiked in Austria, Iceland/Greenland and in the Yellow Mountains of China. He also visited the Arctic four times. Visitation will be held at the SHERRIN FUNERAL HOME, 873 Kingston Road, Toronto on Tuesday, May 6th from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. As was Bill's wish, no service has been planned. In lieu of flowers, anyone wishing to honour his life may consider making a donation to the Bruce Trail Conservancy.
The Guest Book is expired.
