SPIEGLE, Mark Stephen - Mark died after a lengthy illness at the age of 62 on May 4, 2014, passing peacefully surrounded by his family. Mark is survived by Judy, his soul mate and partner in all things for 38 years, their two children Matthew and Gillian and his sister Louise (Parnes). He will be greatly missed by a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, brothers- and sisters-in-law, friends and colleagues. Mark will be remembered by many as a skilled and caring veterinarian. He established the Mount Pleasant - Davisville Veterinary Hospital, eventually becoming a founder and co-owner of the Ontario Veterinary Group. His distinguished professional career included serving as President of the College of Veterinarians of Ontario in 2002-3 and being honoured as Canadian Veterinary Medical Association Small Animal Practitioner of the Year in 2011. Despite the difficulties of his final years, he was immensely proud to have been able to work beside his son after Matthew also became a veterinarian and to have seen his daughter Gillian graduate from medical school.
