JOHANNES (HANS) SCHADE January 24, 1932 - May 17, 2014 Peacefully, at the age of 82 after a happy life filled with music. Beloved husband of Liesel, loving father of Johannes (Dory), Michael and his blended family and Isabelle Lyons (Jim). Devoted grandfather "Avo" to all of the grandchildren and step-grandchildren, including Stephanie Coleman (Peter), Cassandra, Christopher, Emily and Sarah (Lyons), and great-grandfather of Madelyn (Coleman). Brother-in-law of Sixta Lacraz (and the late Georges), Uli (Riet) and predeceased by Hans-Michael (Barbara). He will be dearly missed by his family, friends and colleagues alike. Hans enjoyed a distinguished international career which also brought the family to Canada. He was Senior Vice President at Inco Metals and first President of the Nickel Development Institute. Hans was a proud member of St. Andrew Church choir, president and member of the Toronto Mendelssohn choir and of the Probus club. Hans will be remembered for his beautiful tenor voice, his culinary skills, his love for classical music and opera and for the many wonderful opportunities he provided for his family. The visitation will take place at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville (one block east of Kerr, 905-844-2600) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday, May 21, 2014. Funeral Mass will be held 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church, 47 Reynolds St., Oakville. Interment will take place at Trafalgar Lawn Cemetery. Special thanks to all of the doctors and staff at Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, Churchill Place and especially at the Carpenter Hospice for the care of Hans.
