ZITO, Filomena "Melina" - It is with profound sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Melina on Monday, May 19, 2014. Born August 2, 1931, in Montescaglioso, Italy to Francesco and Antonia Mazziotta, she came to Canada with her family in 1959 with a spirit of adventure. Her boundless energy, courage and entrepreneurial know-how set the course for an independent future. Her love of family, laughter, generosity and willingness to help all those in need were a testament to how she lived her life. A model spouse, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, she was deeply loved by all. Melina is survived by her devoted husband of sixty-two years Grazio, her loving children Madeline (Paul), Peter (Amalia) and cherished grandchildren Melina, Simona and Peter. Melina lives on in the hearts of her siblings Rocco, Angela, Michele and predeceased by Antonietta and Rosetta. Visitation will be held at Ward Funeral Home, 4671 Highway 7, Woodbridge on Thursday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 100 Bainbridge Avenue, Woodbridge on Friday, May 23, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. Entombment to be held at Glendale Memorial Gardens. As an expression of sympathy, donations can be made to the Canadian Liver Foundation or the Villa Leonardo Gambin Charity. Please visit the book of memories at
