AGNES HENCHEY (nee BRACELAND) It is with great sorrow that the family of Agnes Henchey announces her death which occurred on Monday, May 26, 2014 in Mississauga, ON. Agnes was predeceased by her husband of fifty-three years, William Gordon Henchey, her parents, Vincent and Anna Braceland, two sisters Phyllis (R.S.C.J.), Jean (Jacques Bertrand) and her brother, Lawrence (S.J.). Agnes (known as "Patty" in the travel industry) was retired as Vice President of P. Lawson Travel (now Carlson Wagonlit) after 45 successful and rewarding years in travel. Upon her retirement she turned to her other loves: writing (publishing three books including "Travelling Light"), bridge, playing the piano and mostly providing unequalled advice, love and wisdom to those around her. If you met Agnes just once, you remembered her and you were remembered. With an almost total recall of her life, she had boundless stories that underscored what we saw daily - her tremendous capacity for compassion, her quick wit, her generosity, her integrity and most obvious, her overall brilliance in the field of people. Agnes is survived by her four beloved children: Michael, Peter (Diane Sirkin), Brian (Lisa Lane) and Elisabeth (Bettianne) and her husband Chris Foote. She was blessed with four delightful and well-loved grandchildren: Emily, Matthew and Patrick Henchey and Nicole Foote. Agnes will be greatly missed by her sisters, Rita Braceland Langan (Redmond, deceased), Constance Braceland Degenhart (Robert W.) and her brother Hugh Braceland (Patricia Wood, deceased). She leaves to mourn also her brother-in-law Donald Henchey (Audrey Brownlee) and family and the family of her sister-in-law Barbara Henchey Halischuk, deceased (Edward, deceased). She was close to her thirty- three nieces and nephews and will be missed by them.
