ROMANSKY, Alexander G. - July 29, 1928 - May 28, 2014 Peacefully after a brief illness, at William Osler Etobicoke Hospital, at the age of 85 years. Loving father of Marianne and her husband Brian White and John and his partner Joseph Bennett. Cherished grandfather of Julia and Nathalie White. Dear brother of Peter of Tilbury, Ontario and dear friend and companion of the late Mary Kurysko. Predeceased by his wife Julia Senio in 1973. Alex's cousins in Ontario and Argentina, his nephews and nieces and extended family across the world all had a special place in his heart. Alex grew up on the family farm in Tilbury, Ontario, and graduated from the Ontario Agricultural College in Guelph. He had many adventures working and flying in Alberta and later joined the Air Force. In Toronto, he moved into the real estate business and the Ontario Ministry of Government Services. Before and after retirement, he was an active volunteer with the 618 Air Cadets, Knights of Columbus Sheptytsky Council, Toastmasters Queen's Park, St. Demetrius and St. Josaphat church choirs, several seniors clubs and more. Alex continued to remain active in sporting activities such as the Ontario Senior Games and to pursue his love of learning, good company, travelling and plants until his last months. He leaves behind many close friends and colleagues who will miss his gentle optimism. The family thanks the medical staff of 7th Floor West who took such good care of our father during his last few months; and his caregivers Ann Marie and Elaine.
