Catherine "Kay" Bush

August 24, 1917 - May 31, 2014

It is with deep sadness that her family announces the peaceful passing of Kay Bush at Bay Ridges Long Term Care Center, in her 97th year. Loving wife and best friend for nearly 50 years to the late George Bush (1991). Beloved mother to Doug (Velta), David, Bob and proud grandmother of Amber, Susan (Blair) and Andrew (Susan), great-grandmother of Alyssa, Tyler, Ethan, Aidan and Sarah, aunt, sister-in-law and friend to so many. Predeceased by her sister Jeanette (Nettie) and brother Jack. Kay was born in Toronto where she went to school, worked and raised her family. She and George travelled and saw the world before moving to the Beaverton area. She will be remembered for her infectious smile, her Scottish pride and her passion for life and for all it had to offer. Kay was an avid golfer, curler, bridge player, dancer and lived a vibrant, active life until the end. Special thanks to the professional staff of Bay Ridges Long Term Care Centre for their outstanding and compassionate care during Kay's stay there. A Celebration of Life followed by a reception will be held on Friday, June 6th at 11 a.m. in the Chapel at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home, 6150 Yonge Street (at Goulding, south of Steeles).
