STANLEY JOHN GARDNER November 4, 1924 - June 23, 2014 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear father, poppa, great-grandfather and husband. Stanley will be sadly missed by his beloved wife Adeline of 68 years. Much loved father of Christine (Dusan) and Janet (Jeffrey). Adored Poppa to grandchildren Karen (Christopher), Ian (Liza), Paul (Jeanette), Jill (Peter) and Maxwell. Poppa Stanley was much loved by his great- grandchildren Paige, Maggie, Jane, Cloe, Jack, Benjamin and Alisha. Born in London, England, Veteran of WWII Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm, arriving in Canada in the early fifties, enjoying a career spanning over 50 years with The Canada Metal Company continuing to work into his late eighties. Stanley's love of the sea continued on, cruising the many lakes of Ontario on his own boat with his first mate Adeline. As per Stanley's wishes cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at the McDougall and Brown Funeral Home (2900 Kingston Road, at McCowan, Scarborough) on Saturday, June 28, 2014. Visitation 1 to 2 p.m., Service of Remembrance at 2 p.m. with refreshments to follow.
