BATSTONE, William "Jack" - Passed peacefully at Southlake Regional Health Centre, Newmarket, with his family by his side, on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at 91 years of age. Proudly served, WWII British Merchant Navy, Past President Royal Canadian Legion Branch 75, Past Zone Commander and Life Member, 50 year Mason of St. George Lodge No. 367. Now reunited in Heaven with his dear wife Mame (deceased, 2005). He will be deeply missed by his son Bob and his wife Debbie of Newmarket. Predeceased by sisters Nellie, Aletha, Phyllis and brother Gerald. Lovingly remembered by his brother-in-law Herb Moores and sister-in-law Blanche Batson and his much loved nieces, nephews and friends. Special thanks to the staff at Southlake Palliative Care Ward and Barton Retirement Residence for their kindness and wonderful care. Visitation at Taylor Funeral Home, 524 Davis Drive, Newmarket, 905-898-2100, on Monday, July 21, 2014, from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. (with Legion service at 7 p.m. and Masonic service at 8 p.m.) Funeral service will be held at Taylor Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at 12 noon.
