MARIA PILLER May 1, 1910 - August 1, 2014 Our dear mother has left this world and the world is poorer for it. She peacefully died in her sleep. Maria Piller was known to family, friends and acquaintances simply as "Mutti Piller", such was her caring and nurturing disposition towards all. She will be missed, especially by her children Harald, Helmut, Heinar and Heidi, her nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Mutti Piller lived through two world wars, brought up four children during wartime chaos and in her forties, left her native Vienna to forge a new life in Canada. She soon established herself as a leader among her family, friends and fellow Austrians. She was honoured with the Silver Decoration of Merit from the Republic of Austria. A big thank you to the staff at St. Hilda's Towers for their gentle care. In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Hilda's Towers Foundation will be appreciated. Friends may call at the MORLEY BEDFORD FUNERAL HOME, 159 Eglinton Ave. W. (2 stop lights west of Yonge St.) on Friday, August 8th from 7-9 p.m. A service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Saturday, August 9th at 11 a.m.
