HAMILTON, Arthur Edgar - Passed away peacefully, on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 in his 97th year. Born October 24, 1917 at the family home in the west end of Toronto. He was a graduate of the Ontario Agricultural College. In 1943 Arthur joined Lever Brothers as a junior chemist. By the time of his retirement 40 years later he was head of Quality Control. Always curious, Arthur had a keen interest in photography, curling, travel, his Scottish heritage and the universe in general. Arthur is predeceased by his loving wife Dorothy, his parents Wellington and Kathleen and his younger brother Don. Arthur will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He leaves behind his sons Doug, Glen, Ken and their children and grandchildren. Arthur lived independently until he was afflicted with stroke induced aphasia at age 92. Always the gentleman, he kept his sense of humour and dignity until the very end. Special thanks to the caring staff at Cedarbrook Lodge and the terrific folks at Home Instead Senior Care. Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., at Windermere, east of Jane subway, on Monday, August 18, 2014 from 10 a.m. followed by a Funeral Service in the Chapel at 11 a.m., followed by interment at Park Lawn Cemetery.
