(nee WINDLE)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Eileen Ellen Dolman (nee Windle) on Saturday, August 23, 2014. She shared her exuberance for life with all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Beloved wife for 46 years of David Dolman. Cherished mother of Andrew (fiancée Justine Burton) and Laura (partner Duncan Brown). Dear sister of Margaret Althouse (Jim) and Brian Windle (Carole) and sister-in-law of Alan Dolman (Carol). She will be sadly missed by her extended family and friends.

Born in Cornwall, Ontario on November 26, 1945 to the late Ellie and Vince Windle, Eileen moved to Toronto at age 18 to pursue nursing at St. Michael's Hospital. After graduating, she worked in forensic psychiatry at the Clarke Institute, before returning to university part-time, with Dave's encouragement. She earned her Bachelor of Arts and subsequently her Master of Social Work from the University of Toronto. Eileen began her career at Sunnybrook Hospital in 1988, where she worked in various areas including veterans and long term care, patient relations and the Ross Tilley Burn Centre, from where she retired after seven years in 2005.

After retirement, Eileen remained active in the community and passionate about helping others. She served on the board of directors of SPRINT for 3 years, focusing on senior care. Eileen mentored international students at Ryerson University and continued her love of learning by participating in many continuing education courses, including acting. She enjoyed exploring the world through her love of reading, travel, theatre and Tai Chi.

All of us will remember Eileen's warmth, kindness, strength and her unfaltering ability to relate and spread happiness to those whose lives she touched.

Family and friends will be received at R. S. Kane Funeral Home, 6150 Yonge Street (at Goulding, south of Steeles), on Thursday, August 28th from 6-9 p.m. and then Friday, August 29th from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to SPRINT Senior Care. Condolences www.rskane.ca
