During my tribute to one of my dearest friends ever, I forgot to mention one of my favourite Jack stories. He used chewing gum at the top of a pole to keep FH on the air. I am honoured that Gregg asked me to speak today, but I still don't know how I did it. Every time I play a record, it is because Jack made a switch box that continues to link all my components and that box is the only reason my turntable works. Jack, I must apologize to you one last time for cancelling our lunch date in May, 1986 but I was having the baby that day. You are forever in my heart. Thank you so much. lpxo

From the large turnout for today's funeral, it is easy to see why Jack was liked and respected. He was an "all-round good guy".
I did mornings at CKFH from 1976 to 1979, during which time I got to know Jack a bit. But it was only after this, during regular luncheon reunions, that we became better friends. Then there were the hundreds of emails over the years. I still have an old studio clock given to me by Jack sometime ago.
We will all miss him.

How does one say goodbye to a friend? I met Jack at The Fan, however, we kept in touch all the years after and I must mention that we got to know his wife, Muriel. She is a beautiful person inside and out, also a talented Artist. Her paintings are as beautiful as she is. Jack was a lucky man to have her. Mark (my hubby) and I spent many wonderful visits with Jack and Muriel. Our warmest love goes out to her and his sons, grandchildren, his sister in law and to the rest of Jack's family. We will always remember you Jack.

Jack has been an integral part of 100.9 Canoe FM in Haliburton for the last thirteen years. It has truly been an honour to have worked with Jack. Canoe FM is where it is today in part to the help Jack gave our founding members. Jack will always be a part of Community Radio in Haliburton County.

Greg & Family
I had the pleasure of working with both you and your dad for several years at CJCL. Your Dad was always there to extend a helping hand and was a great man. He will be missed but he's probably now making some transmitter adjustments in heaven!. Our prayers are with you at this time.

Whether you turn right or left, your/our ears always heard Jack behind you telling you "This is the way, walk and work in it". That was Jack to me during my apprenticeship and graduation in Engineering. We worked close together during the upgrade of CKFH from 10KW to 50KW. I learnt from the master on the island, and at the stidio. I am thankful our paths crossed because I am a better person for having known Jack. Much can be said for us in the Gondola at the Gardens, and church at Timothy Eaton. HE will be rewarded as He spends his time with HIM. Amen.

Hi Greg and Family
Your father Jack was an amazing man.Jack was my uncle.I remember him dropping by our family home , always having something to say.He had a great mind. The man was always thinking. I loved that about him.He will be missed by many. His memory will live on with me. I found an older picture of him and his late sister Pauline.

Hi, Greg...when I read all these beautiful tributes to your Dad I smile and realize how special he was and how he kept us all together like right now...Al, Sheila, John, Don, Chris, Rob, Bob, Paul...I am smiling right now thinking of all these friends over the years that all began in that little back room of his at CJCL where out of that room also emerged one Greg Lowe...yes you!! yet another life-long friend...friends like these here do not have to be with each other all the time but rather at times just like this to truly be appreciated as friends and that is all because of Jack who was a prince of a man...you take special care, Greg...thinking of you and everyone else here, too...God Bless you...Jerry

If you look up the meaning of Gentleman, you would get two words.... Jack Lowe. One of the finest men I ever met. Back in the day, he'd remind me when it was time to walk down to this Greek joint on College, just east of the alley leading from the radio station. The owner would pour us a complimentary shot of Ouzo. It was Christmas. Went great with a greasy burger & fries. So many stories. I know how proud you always were of your dad, Greg. My sympathies are with you and the family.

Greg. My deepest condolences to you and the family. He was a "legend" among radio engineers. I first met your Dad; when I came to Toronto to work at CKFH. He always had a smile and positive things to say to me and everyone he met. Also an amazing work ethic. He will be missed.

Very sad to hear this news. Jack was a wonderful gentleman who was always, always so very friendly to me. I truly enjoyed our chats in the hallways back on Holly Street. And, Greg, you're a chip off the ol' block. My condolences to you and all of Jack's family and friends. Rest in peace, Jack. Thank you for your kindness.

Only knew Jack for a few years back in the '70s, but long enough to know he was a genius who could take a dog's breakfast of wires and turn them into a radio program. Just a great guy. My condolences to Greg and the rest of the family.

Jack was a wonderful guy. I worked with him at CKFH/CJCL for many years. He was Scotty, from Star Trek. He was MacGyver. He was completely unflappable. Nothing phased him. When there was a problem, he simply fixed it. The station operated on a limited budget. Replacing something was rarely, if ever, the first option. Jack would have to fix it and he did. I never saw him angry or heard him talk down to we ignorant jocks,
who knew little if anything about what he knew or how to do and he loved to laugh. Even after we were no longer working together, if I had a technical problem, Jack was still there to help. He was just a great guy.
