MARY ALICE EDWARDS Passed away on April 29, 2009, in her 46th year, surrounded by her loving family and friends, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Predeceased by her brother John William and sister Patricia Joanne. Dear daughter of William and Joan (Hickey) of Fenelon Falls. Loving sister of Michael (late Mary-Anne) of Whitby, William of Regina, Margaret (Todd Race) of Scarborough, Edward of Regina and Melinda of Edmonton. Mary's loss is deeply felt by her nieces Stephanie Edwards, Yvonne Edwards, Adelaide Race, Sally Race, Kate Edwards, Meghan Mitchell, Allysa Marie Lopez (grandniece) and nephews Billy Edwards and Andre Mitchell. Mary's community of friends provided love and hope throughout her life and were especially important during her time of need. Mary enjoyed a successful career as a Catholic elementary school teacher in Toronto and was an active member of the Ontario English Catholic Teachers Association (OECTA) and local Toronto Elementary Catholic Teachers (TECT). Mary's passion for fairness and justice was the foundation of all her endeavours in teaching and coaching, in her community and throughout the world. Mary was an avid Blue Jays fan and a devoted member of Jean's Marines (Marathon training).
