Betty was my sister in law, yes her laugh was infectious. I did'nt realize how many lifes she touched in her medical field,. When I seen her it was all about family, she never discussed what she was dealing with, she wanted to hear what we were going through so she could advise and be supportive. She was truely a great lady, an angel that was taken from us too soon.

Doug
Steve and I want to send you our deepest sympathies. It's been a long time since we all worked together but I will never forget Betty's support when I was looking for a good doctor during my first pregnancy. We ran into you and Betty occasionally over the years and it was always good to see you. Betty was such an intelligent, vibrant person. Our thoughts are with you and Nick.

Dear Robert and Mary,
Please accept my deepest condolences to you and your whole family on the passing of your big sister. Although we have been out of touch for years, please know that I am holding you in my thoughts and prayers. Betty gave so much of herself, leaves this world a better place and touched many hearts on the way. God speed the days til your pain becomes bearable.

Betty was one of my nursing instructors in Winter 2008 while I was completing my Master of Nursing Degree at UofT. I am in absolute shock at this news. Betty was such a wonderful teacher and nurse. She has contributed in so many ways to the field of nursing and she will be greatly missed. In April Betty acted as a referee for my application to Ryerson's NP program. My last message from her was May 26th wherein she wrote to congratulate me on my acceptance to the NP program. I couldn't have done it without her. My thoughts are with her family during this difficult time. It is comforting to know that she will live on in all of the lives she touched both as a teacher and nurse.

Dear Doug and Nick
I just wanted to send my condolences. I have known Betty since 2003 when she and another colleague (Jody) mentored a small group of us through a Masters of Nursing teaching practicum. They took us 'under their wing' and provided advice, encouragement, feedback and a listening ear. I began working at U of T shortly after this and I became fortunate to call myself a colleague of Betty's! At one point, I was even next door to her office, and whenever I popped my head in her door, she always made time to talk. Sometimes, she would even put on the kettle. We had lots of laughs and although Nick is grown...we would share stories about our children! I just found out about the tragic news and I am in shock. My prayers are with you both and your extended family.
God Bless.

Betty taught me so many important lessons about public health during my nursing degree. She always made time to connect and discuss ideas and thoughts. I will miss her smile and her open door policy at U of T.
