I joined as a partner and the chief Pharmacist at Lefko Drugs (now Lefko Pharmasave) in 2001. Max had been a regular visitor, friend and mentor to me over the past 8 years. I will miss his stories of the history of this little independent pharmacy, I will miss his weekly visits, and I will miss the man. He was truly a part of the "pharmacy family" here at the store. Rest in peace my friend.

Deeply sorry. Max was a member of two of the Golf Clubs where I was the Head Golf Professional. While chatting with him one day, I discovered that Max was the pharmacist where I grew up and I had probably known of him for a good many years. Sheila and I will miss him, he was one of the good guys.

When I moved to Downsview in 1985, I became a customer of Lefko Drugs; Maxie always had a smile & a joke. He graduated in Pharmacy about 1946 & had had a Post Office in his store for 40+ years. In the mid-80s, the postal bureaucrats embarked on franchising, for big fees. I helped (unsuccesfully) to help lobby the PO to help Maxie maintain that service in the community. He was the quintessential neighbourhood druggist who with personal service & an out-going personality served the Wison-Dufferin area for over 50 years! Via con Dios, Max!

Max was a long time friend of our family and especially of my dear father a'h.

May all of his family be comforted with all mourners in Zion and Jerusalem, never to know from such sorrow for many years to come.

May his memory be a blessing to all who dearly loved and cherished his presence.
