KASTNER, Simon - At York Central Hospital on Monday, February 22, 2010. Simon, dear husband of Kathy. Loving father of Peter (Sonya), Karen (Neil) and David (Nicola). Cherished grandpa to James, Steven, Jessie, Rhys, Max and Samantha. Friends may visit at the MARSHALL FUNERAL HOME, 10366 Yonge St., Richmond Hill (4th traffic light north of Major Mackenzie Dr.) on Thursday, February 25th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held in All Saints' Anglican Church, 12935 Keele St., King City on Friday, February 26th at 11 a.m. The family wish to thank the Nurses, Doctors and all the staff at York Hospital for their care and compassion. Memorial donations may be made to the Leukemia Foundation or Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

I will miss the Sockman.
Simon adapted his knitting business to allow amateur rugby players to continue to get durable, quality equipment at affordable prices. He was always trying to make a better product. More players could afford to participate through his efforts.
I was privileged to be able to work with him for nearly 20 years. My condolences to the Kastner family who continued to make his business work.
