MCKINNON, Gwendolyn Jean (nee Thomas) - Peacefully on Thursday, March 8, 2012 in her 88th year, left us to be reunited with the love of her life Douglas (1988) in eternal peace. Our loving and much cherished mother passed away as she wanted: in her own home and in her sleep without any pain or suffering. She leaves behind a great hole in the hearts of her children Linda of Guelph, Sharon and her husband Don Lewis of Holstein, John and his wife Abbie of Hillsburgh and Sandra Marie and her husband Kent Fletcher of Toronto. Grandchildren: Jay Lewis and his wife Penny, Anson Lewis and his wife Cathy, Ryan Fletcher, Jocelyne Fletcher, Tom Bryce and Lynn Fretz and her husband Al and great-grandchildren Blake, Cory, Will, Hailey, Connor Lewis and Benjamin and Samantha Fretz. Gwen was predeceased by her parents William and Ella Thomas, brothers Richard Thomas, Andrew Thomas, Harley Presley and her sister Margaret McKinnon. She will be lovingly remembered by brothers-in-law Stuart McKinnon, Alastair McKinnon, Ken McKinnon, David Barbour and sister-in-law Dorothy Thomas as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends for Visitation at the Butcher Family Funeral Home, 5399 Main Street South, Erin, on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 12th at 1 p.m. from St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, 81 Trafalgar Rd., Hillsburgh. Spring interment Coningsby Cemetery. Our mother very much believed in helping others. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church for Gwen's special angel fund or to Sleeping Children Around The World and would be appreciated.
