LEONID SKIRKO Obituary

LEONID SKIRKO Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Friday, June 8, 2012 at the age of 73. Survived by his beloved wife Merika, devoted children Lesia (Scott), Taras (Sherry), Oleh and step son Jonathan, grandchildren Johnny, Fallon, Sammy and Lucy, sister Nina (Andy) and their son Boris (Laura). He will also be missed by his extended Skirko family. In addition to a long career as a professional engineer, Leonid was well known and cherished for his vocal talent and deeply committed contribution to the Ukrainian community and both the Canadian and Ukrainian opera companies. Resting at the Cardinal Funeral Home, 92 Annette St. (east of Keele), on Tuesday, June 12 from 2 - 4 and 6 - 9 p.m. Panakhyda 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass to be held at St. Volodymyr Cathedral, 406 Bathurst St. (north of Dundas), on Wednesday, June 13 at 10 a.m. Interment at St. Volodymyr Cemetery, Oakville. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Cathedral would be appreciated. Online condolences received at www.cardinalfuneralhomes.com

Johnny will miss your broken clocks, Sammy will miss the "jogs" you shared together and I know that baby Lucy will have you at her beside in her journey at Sick Kids to protect and comfort her when we can't be beside her.
