WILLIAM MISURKA October 29, 1926 - December 6, 2012 With great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Husband, Father, Dido/Gigi and Great-Dido/Gigi on Thursday, December 6, 2012 in his 87th year at the Guelph General Hospital. Beloved husband for over 62 years of Olga (Bernyck) Misurka. Loving father of Michael (Margie), Jerry (Margaret), Linda Duszczyszyn (Dan), Peter (Rosemary) and Donna Grzegorczyk (Les). Bill was the proud Dido/Gigi of Jason (Lisa), Jimmy (Chelsea), Nicholas (Brittany), Ashley, Dominic, Melissa (Michael), Andrew (Vanessa), Christopher, Alexander, Nathaniel, Julia, Jacob, Margaret, Hannah and Natalie. Adoring Great-Dido/Gigi of Ethan, Kenzie and Joseph and a fourth due in July. Predeceased by his parents Stefan and Anna and his in-laws William and Julia Bernyck and by his brother Nicholas; sister Mary Chuchmach-Miller; brothers-in-law Nick Chuchmach and Mitch Miller and sister-in-law Mary Skleryk. Sadly missed by close relatives Kay Misurka and family, Mike and Mary Bernyck and family and Bill Skleryk and family. Bill moved from Toronto to Guelph in 1968 to become the proud proprietor of the Albion Hotel. He quickly became well established in the community. He was a devoted member of the Ukrainian Community and gave many hours to his church and was instrumental in the building of the St. Mary's Ukrainian Parish Centre. Bill was a compassionate, caring man who taught his children and grandchildren the importance of family and faith. He lead by example and was always there whenever anyone needed him. During his illness he showed us strength, wisdom and a fighting spirit and even in his final hours he kept us smiling with his incredible sense of humour. He will be missed more than we can imagine and will always be in our hearts. Our family will be eternally grateful for the wonderful staff on the 5th Floor of the Guelph General Hospital for their compassionate care in his final hours. Resting at the GILBERT MACINTYRE and SON FUNERAL HOME, DUBLIN CHAPEL, 252 Dublin Street North, Guelph (Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.).
