WILLIAM JAMES FLYNN Suddenly on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer, William, beloved husband of Veronica (nee Whelan), passed away with his wife and daughters at his side. In his life, Bill cherished family above all else. He was the much loved father of Christine Krubnik (Jack) and Katie Akelaitis (Matthew). His pride and joy were his grandchildren Jacob, Lilah and Finnigan. They will sorely miss their Poppy. Loving brother of Catherine Kent (late Gordon), Ann Vieyra (late Gilbert), Margo Barron (Bern), Mike (late Anna), Roddy (Pat), Bryan and the late Jerome. William was also brother-in-law to and greatly missed by Mary Ostberg (Larry), Sheila Billings (late Gary), Betty Corrado (Gino), Bill Whelan (Marie), Arthur Whelan (Carol), Theresa Cobb (Pat), Bridget Molloy (Emmanuel), Kathleen Hickey (Dennis), Tony Whelan, Rick Whelan (Sheri) and the late Eileen Hanlon. He was especially close to his brother-in-law Pat Hanlon. The many memories they had as friends will never be forgotten. He will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, other family and many friends. William was a longtime employee of Dorma Door Controls and in his spare time was a talented and avid golfer. He was a longtime member of Hornby Glen Golf Club. He spent many days enjoying the love of the game and the good company of friends at Hornby. Above all, Bill Flynn was a generous man who gave his time and smile to any who were lucky to sit and chat with him. He would want you to "keep a smile" as you remember him. The family would like the staff at Toronto General and Princess Margaret Hospitals for all their excellent and compassionate care. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lake Shore Blvd. W., (between Islington and Kipling Aves., 416-259-3705), on Friday from 3 to 9 p.m. Prayers Friday evening at 8 p.m. Funeral Mass Saturday 11 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church, 3674 Lake Shore Blvd. W. Cremation. If desired, donations to the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation Fund would be greatly appreciated. Messages of Condolences may be placed at www.RidleyFuneralHome.com
