MARY AILEEN MEAGHER 1951 - 2012 Born in Ottawa, Aileen moved to Toronto in her early twenties. Died on December 26, 2012 of influenza and other complications surrounded by brother Marc Meagher and dear friends Robb Travers, Jean Jackson, Cynthia Karlton, Tyrone Turner, and Jack Crosby who represented countless loving family and friends near and far. Aileen was the eldest daughter of the late Morgan Francis and Mary Margaret (Peggy) Meagher. She was the sister of Robert (Louise), Marc, Justin (Kate), Jeffrey, and Mary Frances. Special Aunt Neen to many nieces and nephews. Aileen struggled with years of health challenges with remarkable grace and selfless care for others. A loyal, attentive friend who provided unwavering love and support to many, especially younger generations, particularly Brett and Kira Evenson, as well as Zoe Compton and godsons Rio and Sacha Chicoine. Aileen exhibited a passion for politics starting as a young staffer for Larry Grossman. A committed community health advocate, Aileen was a past board director of the Wellesley Institute, and a past chair of the Mental Health Community Advisory Panel at St. Michael's Hospital. Famous for her beautifully wrapped Valentines, Halloween and Christmas treats which she hand delivered across the city. A true swimming enthusiast with a great sense of humour and a unique fashion flare. Dear Aileen will be missed by all of those who had the honour of knowing her, from 10 Hogarth Avenue in Riverdale, right across Canada. Thank you to the caring ICU team at Toronto General Hospital during Aileen's final few weeks. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W.
