"HERB" KENNETH HERBERT WINNINGTON HATCH 81, of Toronto, passed away peacefully in his home early January 2nd, 2013. He is deeply missed by his wife Pam, their children and spouses Steven (Kati), Peter (Margaret Toye), Nancy (Stuart Jackson), Wendy (Ed Etchells), Tom (Debbie), their grandchildren Ken (Laurel), Greg (Marni), Kevin, Jason, Tim, Matt, Ken, Tommy and Jenny, their great- grandchildren Linnea and Ethan, Herb's sister, Donna MCKechnie and her family. Herb was a highly respected structural engineer, much-loved husband and father, avid Barbershop singer, builder and wood craftsman. He was admired for his strong and gentle manner. He cherished his time at the family built cottage, which he designed. His drive and consistent energy led to many long walks, various outdoor activities and frequent travel. A gathering of family and friends will be held Monday, January 7th from 3 to 6 p.m. (informal tribute at 4:15 p.m.) at the Thornhill Golf and Country Club, 7994 Yonge St., (west side of Yonge at Royal Oak Boulevard), Thornhill, 905-881-3000. If desired, donations may be made in Herb's memory to the Sunnybrook Brain Tumour Program.
