ALCOTT, Beverley June - Beverley June Alcott, 74, after a brave fight with cancer passed away peacefully on February 12, 2013 in her daughter's home in Whitby, Ontario surrounded by her children. She was born on March 1, 1938 in Pickering, Ontario to Walter and Marjorie Wood. Beverley grew up in Pickering Village where her family has a long and rich history and spent the majority of her adult life living in the Pickering/Ajax area surrounded by family. She was a wonderful mother to Michael, Scott, Steven and Rhonda, much loved grandmother to Sabrina, Scott, Meghan and Joshua and great- grandmother to Alexis. She retired with her husband Jack Alcott and moved to Baldwin, Ontario. For many years, Beverley and Jack were snowbirds and enjoyed the freedom and opportunities that retirement offered. After Jack's death, Beverley spent much time exploring Ontario with her loving and devoted companion John Ford. She has always been curious about the world and the people in it and loved to travel around to see as much of it as she could. For her it was never about the destination, it was always about the journey getting there. Beverley will be missed by her sister Lynda Keeler (Lynn), brother- in-law Alan, her nieces, nephews and her friends at Lyndhurst Park. Predeceased by her sister Carolyn. She left us too soon and she will be missed by us all dearly. Please contact the family for further details regarding a celebration of Beverley's life. Arrangements entrusted to MCEachnie Funeral Home, 905-428-8488. Online condolences may be placed at www.mceachniefuneral.ca
