JESSICA BOOKER (nee JESSIE MAITLAND) Born January 1, 1921 in Paisley, Scotland. Daughter of Robert and Elizabeth (Johnston) Maitland. After a brief illness at age 92 years, as per her wish, passed away at home, with family by her side on February 23, 2013. Dear wife and acting partner of the late Fred Booker (1992). Predeceased by her daughter Roberta (1946) and survived and greatly missed by daughters Carol MCDougall (Bob), Jane Dyke (Frank) and Glenn Booker. Also sadly missed by grandchildren Robbie, Shawn, Kevin (Garrett), Frankie (Dyke), Kathy Byrne (Dyke), great-grandchildren Christine, Nicole, Brittany, Zaila, Annie, Ariel, Roxy, Lola-Lilly, Casey, Ashley, Nathan, Alyssa, Christopher, Katelyn, great- great-grandson Ethan and many nieces, nephews, other family and friends. She was a remarkable woman with many talents. A longtime professional stage, television and film actor and member of ACTRA and Equity. A person with an incredible imagination who loved to write and act and even produced and directed amateur theatre. Jessie was a fiercely independent and resilient person, a matriarch who was devoted to her family always. A special thank you to great- niece, Lori Whibbs and her family and the nurses from CCAC for their excellent care and constant support. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lake Shore Blvd. W. (between Islington and Kipling Aves., 416-259-3705), on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Celebration of her Life will take place on Wednesday in the Chapel at 11 a.m. Interment Springcreek Cemetery, Clarkson.
