PAUL MITCHELL It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Paul Barry Mitchell (Mitch), at the age of 48, in the morning hours of March 20, 2013 at the Lakeridge Health Centre in Oshawa. He was predeceased by his father Barry Mitchell of Tweed, survived by mother Anne and step-mother Nancy. For twenty years, Paul was a kind and loving partner to Sandy Matheson. He was also the proud and loving father of cherished daughter Sara, while maintaining a close and loving friendship with Sara's mother Lisa Mitchell. Paul was a treasured brother to his siblings Cheryl Holmberg (Rick), David Mitchell (Paulene), Sue Booth (Eric), and fun loving Uncle to nephews Elijah and Gryphon. This kind and gentle man was a lover of music, animals and the great outdoors. He had a natural ability to befriend all and put everyone he met at ease. He was a truly remarkable man. At the time of his death, Paul Mitchell was the Directing Business Representative of District Lodge 78 of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers in Toronto. He had recently been re-elected to this position for another four-year term. In his 19 years as a member of the IAMAW, Paul Mitchell earned the respect and admiration of his co-workers, his members and the employers they worked for. Hard working, compassionate and above all a true gentleman, Paul Mitchell's contributions to his union, the labour movement and to the world will be sorely missed. Visitation at the Glendale Cemetery and Visitation Centre, 1810 Albion Road, Etobicoke, on Tuesday, March 26, 2013, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. with a celebration of life to follow immediately afterward. For those who wish to contribute in some way can do so by making a donation to a charity of your choice which would be greatly appreciated.
