HARDING, Gladys Jane (Noseworthy) - It is with both sadness and joy the family wishes to announce the peaceful and quiet passing of Gladys Harding on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 in her 87th year at Shepherd Village Nursing Home. Her passing brings a flood of emotion and reflection but ultimately thankfulness that she is now at peace and with God. For over 40 years she dedicated her life to God's work, many of which as Chairman of Christian Women's Clubs of Canada. In recent years, her far too infrequent trips to the cottage brought her the greatest joy as she would celebrate the blessings of her grandchildren and of her family being together enjoying meals, sun, laughter and lively discussions. Fond memories of her struggling to bring a sense of properness to any occasion while the three boys did all they could to scuttle her best attempts will remain with us forever. She will be dearly missed but the memories will live on. Gladys was predeceased by her husband Donald, parents Alpheus and Jennie Noseworthy, her sisters Ruth and Hazel and brother John. She is survived by her sons John (Tina), Robert (Cheryl) and Philip as well as her brother David and sisters Ella and Alice. She will also be sadly missed by her grandchildren Johanna, Kimberly, Jamie, Coby and Alyssa as well as many nieces and nephews. The family will welcome all those who wish to celebrate her life at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 28th at Church in the Village, Shepherd Village, 3760 Sheppard Ave East, Scarborough. Service at 7:00 p.m. with refreshments following. In lieu of flowers, donations to Stonecroft Ministries (P.O. Box 38089, Edmonton, Alberta, T6A 3Y6), the or the Heart & Stroke Foundation, all of which have touched the life of Gladys, would be greatly appreciated.
