I first knew Jim when my grandmother used to invite him for Sunday dinner. He was a bachelor, but then as now, was a perfect gentleman. He will certainly be missed by all who knew him. Gordon Dickie

I remember going to Jim's store on 80 Richmond Street in Toronto back as a teenager in 1962. I remember seeing a table full of large cents at 20c a piece.I purchased 10 examples. This started a coin collecting bug which is with me to this day! A True Numismatic Icon! God Bless You Jim!

It was my pleasure to have all of the dealers from the convention sign the reverse of the 1911 silver dollar, and have it presented to Jim.

A quiet giant of numismatics, whose contributions to the wonder of coin collecting will leave a permanent legacy. We will indeed miss his wonderful presence at our shows. Sincere condolences to his family.
