Scott ROWNTREE Obituary

ROWNTREE, Scott - June 27, 1960 - September 20, 2014 "Every man can be a father, but it takes an amazing man to be a Dad." This amazing Dad passed away suddenly at home on Saturday. His beloved children Jordyn, Conner and Brynlyn are cherishing every memory of him and are heartbroken, as he left them far too soon. In lieu of flowers, the children have requested and would greatly appreciate a donation to the St. Andrew's College Foundation so their Dad can have a lasting memory at one of his favourite places. A tribute in his honour will take place on Friday, September 26th, at 2 p.m. at St. Andrew's College Memorial Chapel, 15800 Yonge Street, Aurora. "You will always be in our thoughts and memories. We Love You more than a whole bunch."

To the Rowntree Family,
Our sincere condolences to a wonderful family who have already had to endure both pain and sorrow and are faced with another hardship in the passing of a son, brother and father. We worked with Scott at Golden Mile during the relocation and new construction and he was always fair and honest.

We wish the family strength at this time of grief.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of Scott. Although I hadn't seen him in many years, once I heard his name, great memories came back of my grade 9 year when Scott was one of the house Captains in Mac House. I remember his prowess on the football field and generally his good nature. My condolence to his family.

Such a kind hearted man who lived with the sole purpose of his children whom he loved dearly and always spoke so highly of with great proudness. Our sincerest thoughts and prayers are with Jordyn, Connor and Brynlyn. We miss you and we will miss your Dad so much. Hugs, Silvio, Lucy and Sabrina

My deepest condolences to the Rountree family. Scott was a classmate at SAC and we both attended Queens together. I actually reside at 53 Hill Cres, just a few doors down from where Scott grew up as a child. Scott had a thing for speed.. I was fortunate enough to catch a ride with Scott to do a campus tour, prior to attending Queens. On this trip to Kingston Scott taught me about "drafting".. You basically sit on cars or "transports" rear bumpers and use this as a sling shot effect to get past the much bewildered drivers. As a passenger in Scotts vehicle, it was terrifying but exciting experience. Scott was taken from us far to early in life and prayers and thoughts are passed along from Sallie and Bob Baun, who were friends of Scott's parents.

Kind Regards,

Greg Baun (SAC 79)

Scott was a fun loving and caring individual that I had the pleasure of spending a couple of summers with some years ago in our teens. We had a cabin each of campers to look after as counselors. We used to spend the early morning hours talking about life while smoking cigars in the Rec Hall or hanging somebody's underwear up the flag pole for the morning revel call. Good times. I was Wan and he was Julio, sole brothers. I have never forgotten what an impact Scott had on my life. Always put a smile on my face, even now. My heart felt thoughts go out to Scott's family. Please smile for Scott and remember what a great person he was and how he made a difference in so many others lives. Hey Julio, I am lighting a cigar for you. Till we meet again my man, God bless.

To the Rowntree Family:
I would like to send my sincere condolences to the entire Rowntree family. I grew up with Scott Rowntree and lived down the street from the family in West Hills and we went to Charlottetown Grade school together, played sports together and we were good friends. I saw him last in 1984 and he grew into a handsome and intelligent young man. We all greatly admired him.
This is too soon to happen, but God wants Scott at this side now. I'm sorry I could not attend the services, as I now live in California, however we will all miss the "amazing" Scott Rowntree.
Respectfully yours,
H. Paul Soni

Scott was my first house captain at Saint Andrews and he was a large presence in my first year of SAC. He was an amazing football player and he taught me so much as a young 8th grader on how to navigate the challenges of being a border living a long way from home. My condolences to your family. I will always remember him fondly.
