EARL CLINTON McDERMID Born on May 10, 1929 in Kagawong (Manitoulin Island), Ontario. Passed away peacefully on September 24, 2014 in his 86th year. Son of William Hamilton and Mary-Anne McDermid (nee Duxbury). Beloved husband of Leona for 62 years. Loving father to Lance (Cheryl), Michael (Janet) and Lori-Anne (Paul Flabbi). Caring grandfather to Andrew, David, Rebecca, Sarah, McCall and Deanna. He will be missed by his brother Bill. Predeceased by his brothers Colin and Harry and sisters Jean and Nellie. He will also be missed by many other family and friends. Take back my hand, sweet time of youth Touch my heart and teach it truth For here lies all of life's sweet song To sing when all but love is gone Family and friends are invited to the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Rockwood Chapel, 117 Guelph St., Rockwood, for visitation on Friday, October 3, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with a vigil being held at 3 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, 232 Main St. N., Rockwood, on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at 10 a.m. with interment at Rockwood Cemetery to follow.
