Eileen Keyser Obituary

EILEEN ELIZABETH KEYSER

(nee HESS)

April 2, 1922 - November 26, 2014

It is with great sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of our Mom, Eileen Elizabeth Keyser (nee Hess) on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 in Toronto, Ontario. Eileen was born April 2, 1922 in Chesterville, Ontario and was predeceased by our Dad, her loving husband of 61 years, Russell James Keyser on October 3, 2005. She is survived by three daughters and their families: Brenda Keyser (Peter Murdock), Kalyn and Mackenzie; Shelley Keyser (John Cormier); Kimberly Keyser (Walter Borchenko), Jacob and Lucas, as well as one brother Charles (Ted) Hess (Margery). She is also survived by brother-in-law Lloyd Keyser, sisters-in-law Evelyn Keyser and Bernice Essery and numerous nephews and nieces. Mom was also predeceased by her sister Beatrice Smith, brothers-in-law Ernest Smith, Albert Keyser and Donald Essery, sister-in-law Teeny Keyser and nephew Charles Keyser. Coincidentally, Eileen's very close friend Evelyn Okamura of St. Albert, Alberta passed away the same day and we extend our deepest condolences to her husband Ken and their family.

Eileen was raised traditionally to be a "lady" but was also fiercely independent. She loved travel, theatre, shopping and fashion. As she declined physically she never lost her wit and intelligence and went out on her own terms. Nothing was more important to her than family and the knowledge that her daughters and grandchildren were happy and secure. Thanks Mom, for raising us to be strong and independent. We will miss you.

In lieu of flowers, Mom would appreciate support of The Heart & Stroke Foundation. Private arrangements. Mom will be laid to rest with our Dad in Regina.

Those we love don't go away

They walk beside us every day

Unseen, unheard, but always near

Still loved, still missed

and very dear.
