TAGGART, Margaret Irene (nee Nettleship) —

Passed away July 26, 2016, predeceased by her husband Hugh Taggart, loving mother to Terri Taggart (John Rose), Sam (Alix), Cathie Taggart (Glenn McFadden), Don (Stephanie) and Chris (Moragh Robinson), grandmother to Cienwen, Mackay, Maggie, Brett, James and Nathan and great-grandmother to Ainsley, Brianna and Warren. Marg was born March 22, 1933 in her family's house at 578 Parliament St., Toronto and lived there until moving to Meighen Manor in 2015. She was proud of being a lifelong resident of Parliament St., owning and running Nettleship's Hardware with her mother upon the death of Marg's father in 1949. Marg was 16 at the time. Marg was an avid folk-dancer. She loved her cottage at MacTier, Ontario; swimming, gardening and entertaining friends and family there every summer. Lastly she was a periodic visitor to Ontario casinos where she she was a fan of the slots.

The family thanks the Isabel and Arthur Meighen Manor on Millwood Ave. for their care and a special thank you to the staff of Davis wing. Private cremation has taken place and there will be a memorial service on September 18, 2016, details to follow. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rosar-Morrison Home & Chapel.

my sincere sympathy to Don and his family - you have lost a wonderful lady in Marg's passing. Your mom was always so kind and funny, with a zest for life and curiousity about life. This is when memories are so precious and warming. Rest in Peace, Marg.

Dear Taggart family so sorry to hear of your mom's passing. Always so many fond memories of times spent with your family at the store, playing sports or enjoying good times at your cottage which I imagine was long swallowed by the city's sprawl. I have a picture in my mind of your mom smiling and laughing and it's one I carry with me of a wife and mother who was an inspiration to me as a young woman. God bless her, she's home with your dad now and I know you'll miss her but always have so many good memories. Remembering good times spent with your family. Take care, we'll keep you in our prayers.

Saddened to hear of Marg's passing. She was a lovely, kind woman who we always enjoyed talking with about the neighbourhood and her beloved family. A wonderful mentor and friend to our son Matthew when he worked at Nettleship's, Marg will be greatly missed.
