ELEANOR McDONALD Obituary

ELEANOR McDONALD Passed away peacefully in Toronto on Friday, February 24, 2017 in her 95th year. Predeceased by her daughters Leslie and Skye. Much loved mother of Alison (Rev. Jack Cox) and Nora McDonald (Sandy Ong). Proud grandmother of Ryan, Sarah, Rachel Edmonds, Jessie, Bessie, Mowie McDonald- Gussack and Alice Hawn. Great-grandmother of 7. She was a proud and active member of the Co-Operative Housing movement of Ontario and Canada and a 35-year resident and member of the Hugh Garner Co-op community in Toronto. She was a tireless advocate in the issues of accessibility and affordable housing for all. In 2012 she received the Queen's Silver Jubilee Medal for her years of community service. A celebration in her memory will be held at the HUGH GARNER CO-OP, 550 Ontario Street, on Sunday, June 4th, 2-4 p.m. If desired, donations to the Hugh Garner Co-op Green Roof Committee or the Elizabeth Fry Society would be appreciated.
