DIANE MILLER Obituary

MILLER, DIANE KATHERINE April, 1945 - December, 2017 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Diane on December 11, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer. Diane was the only child of Elsie and Bruce Miller, who predeceased her in 2016. She leaves behind daughter Annelise, son-in-law Justin and beloved grandsons Rhys and James. She will be greatly missed by dear friends Martha, Lee, Betty, Vicki, Christine and all the "Survivor" girls. Diane was a devoted daughter, a loving mother, a doting grandmother and a fantastic friend. She was a charismatic, talented and a dynamic tour de force. In Toronto Diane began a successful singing career as one of the "Girlfriends" on Music Hop. She continued performing in the vibrant Toronto music scene and toured Asia and Canada with Frank Mills. In Calgary she developed a following as a jazz singer and performed with many local talents and Decidedly Jazz Danceworks. Diane was an equally successful Realtor in Calgary and later in Toronto. With her impeccable taste, she took particular pleasure in staging and renovating houses for herself and others. She accomplished so much during her lifetime yet it seems she was taken too soon. At her request, cremation has taken place. Diane liked a party so please join us to celebrate her life on Saturday, January 6th, 2018 from 2-5 p.m. at the Olde Stone Cottage Pub, 3750 Kingston Rd., Scarborough M1J 3H5. If desired memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
