SEVER, Calvin Walter
Born October 17, 1934 in Eriksdale, MB to Walter and Jennie Sever. It is with great sadness that the family of Calvin Sever announces his passing on March 29, 2013 at the Royal University Hospital, Saskatoon, SK. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Irene Sever, to whom he was a loving husband for 43 years; his 13 children: Greg (Maria), Tracy (Ron), Kelly (Ray), Heather, Warren (Lisa), Corinne (Doug), Calvin Jr. (Gisele), CeaAnna (Chad), Yvonne (Lionel), Jason (Chitra), Joella (Jeff), Shandra (Sheldon), and Catherine (Ryan); and his 21 grandchildren. He was an honest and hard-working man; a man of all trades who worked many different jobs in order to support his extensive family. He was very sociable and enjoyed entertaining family & friends, and telling great stories about his life experiences. He had a passion for the railroad, woodworking, and for the CFL, cheering on his Roughriders. He will most especially be remembered for the love and pride he had for his large family. The family would like to thank all the caregivers, nurses, doctors, and the close friends who are like family who helped care for Calvin during his struggles with many health issues over the past years. A special thank you to Dr. Datanni and Dr. David Sheridan for their primary care. Calvin passed away at the age of 78 surrounded by his wife, children, and some of his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by them all. Cal had a great longing for the hope stated in Revelation 21:4 which says, "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 5, 2013 at 2 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses; 1725 McKercher Dr, Saskatoon, SK, S7H 5N6. Arrangements are in care of MARTENS WARMAN FUNERAL HOME (306-934-4888).
