Gerda Surkemper
Mom passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at the age of 90 years. She was born in Hannover, Germany on May 23, 1922 and lived there until her and Dad moved to Canada in 1981. She was always busy in their house on Deborah Cres. and even more so at her favorite leisure spot, the cabin at Indian Point at Turtle Lake. With friends from Germany she went for years in the summer all over the states, Canada, the Yukon and Alaska in their motorhome in the 80's and early 90's. Her number one place, was and always will be, our cabin at the Lake where she spent Quality time all year round enjoying the tranquility and wild life. We would like to thank the staff and management of Ray of Sunshine Care Home for their gracious care for over two years, Mary Johnson Crowdis for her very personal and loving care and Sunnyside Nursing Home for their care the last couple of months of Mom's life. She will be laid to final rest in Hannover at the family's burial site.
