LUCY McCARTHY
It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts the family announces the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great- grandmother, Lucy McCarthy at St. Paul's Hospital after a short battle with cancer. Lucy will be forever remembered by her son, Brian (Debby); daughter, Cathy Stuchenko; her 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Lucy was predeceased by her mother, Mable; husband, Herbert; son, Richard and son-in- law, Al Stuchenko. Lucy was raised in Prince Edward Island and moved west with her husband, Herbert, as a war bride. Lucy was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She loved her family and was the centre of our lives. She had a special bond with two of her great-grandchildren, Josiah and Serenity. Mom was a resident of Scott Forget Towers for many years. In recent years as her physical health deteriorated, it was the many kindnesses of her neighbours in the building that helped her to remain in her own home until recently. The family is very grateful to everyone who participated in allowing this to happen. Home Care also played a big part in her daily care in recent years. Thank you for all your help. Mom became very close to some of her caregivers. Thank you to all who participated in her care. Her family also acknowledges and appreciates the care and compassion shown to Lucy by the staff of Fifth Floor Medicine at St Paul's Hospital during her final days. The nursing staff was wonderful and spent much time trying to keep her comfortable during her final days. A Private Family Graveside will take place at Hillcrest Cemetery in Weyburn at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul's Hospital Foundation or to a charity of your choice. Arrangements in care of John Schachtel – Mourning Glory Funeral Services (978-5200).
