Dudley Goddard
Dudley Goddard passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2016 at St. Paul's Hospital. He was born on May 9, 1926 to parents Dudley and Florence Goddard in the town of Cabri, SK. Dudley came to Saskatoon as his parents sold the farm and moved to the West Coast. He started to work at the University farm in 1943. He moved from the University Farm to Sask Hall as a utility man, then to Qu'Appelle Hall as a caretaker, then on to the Chemistry Building as assistant store keeper. One of the Professors suggested he upgrade his education by correspondence (which he did) and apprenticed to become a journeyman electrician. 43 years later and at the time of his retirement in 1986, he was a Mechanical Supervisor still at the University of Saskatchewan. Dudley was predeceased by his parents; his in-laws Tom and Ruby Sealy; brother Ralph and his wife Lily of Sardis, BC; sister-in-law Verna (Bernie) Hogan; and son- in-law Perry Cormack of Dodsland. He is survived by his wife Eunice of 65 years; two daughters Debbie Cormack and Heather Goddard; granddaughter Koreena Jackson (Lonnie Farr); three great-grandchildren Tayla, Keston and Kyden; sister-in-law Eula (Don) Brennick of Ladner, BC; as well as several nieces and nephews in Saskatoon, as well as the West Coast. After retirement, Dud and Eunice did a lot of travelling which they greatly enjoyed. They spent many winters down south in Yuma, Arizona and Las Vegas, Nevada. They also travelled across Canada and through most of the United States including Hawaii and Alaska and flew to England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales. Dud's main hobby was building Conestoga wagon lamps and many of his friends have one. He was a member of the Thrasherman's Club for a while and a long time member of the Nutana Legion #362. As per Dud's final wishes, there will be no funeral service. Cremation has taken place and burial of cremains will be held at a later date.
