Josephine NOBEL Obituary

Published by Saskatoon StarPhoenix from Oct. 3 to Oct. 5, 2015.
JOSEPHINE 'Josie' NOBEL
(nee Wandler)
1962 - 2015
Josephine "Josie" Nobel (nee Wandler) passed away peacefully from this life on October 1, 2015 at her home in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan surrounded by her family and went to be with her dad in Heaven. She was 52 years old and far too young. Josie will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her husband of 27 years, John; her son Adam; her mother Elizabeth; her sisters Linda (Dave) Fouhy, Dorothy (John) Wolcak, Rose (Dave) Dykes, Lorraine (Tim) Murphy, Doreen (Clint) Fyke; numerous nieces and nephews; and the many friends and acquaintances she has made over the years. She was preceded in death by her father Adam in 1995. Josie was born in Wilkie, Saskatchewan to Elizabeth and Adam Wandler in October of 1962. After completing high school in Wilkie, she attended the Saskatoon Business College and began working for the University of Saskatchewan as a receptionist/data entry clerk in May 1981. Josie married John Nobel in 1987 and welcomed Adam, their only child, into their home on Christmas Day of 1989. Over the years, Josie worked at various positions and departments at the U of S, finally retiring in April of 2014 after 33 years' service. Josie's passion was country music and she enjoyed going to many concerts. She had the opportunity to meet many of her favourite stars and followed them through television, award shows, and fan clubs. She also enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles, and cared deeply for her husband, son and two cats, Smokey and Peanut. Although she was shy, once you got to know her Josie was funny and sassy. If she had any fault, it was worrying beyond need for the safety of John and Adam, and her cats. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., October 6th, 2015 at Elim Church, Saskatoon, with a reception to follow. Pastor Marvin Wojda will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Josie's life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation or Palliative Care c/o St. Paul's Hospital Foundation. The family would like to thank Dr. Donald Stefiuk, the entire Saskatoon Palliative Care team and the Saskatoon Cancer Centre for their care and dedication. Condolences may be left at www.saskatoonfuneralhome.com. Arrangements have been entrusted to Saskatoon Funeral Home.

It was of great sadness to hear of Josie's much too early passing. Sincere sympathy to all her family and to her sisters with whom I grew up with, and of course to her mother Liz. May the comfort of the angels wrap their arms around you all.

John and family,
My deepest heartfelt sympathies. I know that right now there is nothing anyone can say or do to ease you grief. In time find comfort in your memories of your time with Josie which was sadly much too brief. I hope it helps to know that she is in a better place free of the pain and suffering. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
